A SOCCER team is counting the cost after their club house was broken into over the weekend.
Thieves made off with expensive sports equipment during the night-time raid on Silsden AFC’s headquarters.
As well as a strimmer and a professional ground marker, the thieves took the contents of the club’s shop, including crisps, drinks and chocolate.
Peter Hanson, the club’s general secretary, estimated the losses to be between £1,300 and £1,500. He is waiting to discover whether the losses were covered by insurance.
He said: “We’re relatively secure, but if they want to get in, they will. We’re going to try to get CCTV cameras installed.”
