THE SUCCESS of a Haworth flower and vegetable show is growing!
The number and quality of entries to the annual show in the village’s community centre improves year by year.
And the show, now in its 96th year, attracts well-respected growers from across Yorkshire.
Show spokesman Geoff Wilkins described this year’s event – held last Sunday. (August 24) – as an “all-round excellent show”.
The competition is organised each year by the Haworth, Oxenhope, Lees and Cross Roads Gardeners and Allotment Holders Association.
There are classes for flowers, vegetables, baking, handicrafts, eggs and photographs.
This year a total of 80 people entered 580 exhibits, and there were 300 visitors to the Butt Lane venue, Mr Wilkins said: “”There was an excellent turnout, which is improving every year."
