JOBLESS numbers in Keighley have fallen again.
Figures published today show that last month there were 1,538 unemployed claimants in the parliamentary constituency, which also includes Ilkley.
The figure was 48 down on the previous month, and a drop of 665 compared to August last year.
Youth unemployment in the constituency also fell last month, by 20, to 415.
The Office for National Statistics data revealed that nationally, the jobless total dropped by 146,000 to 2.02 million in the three months to July.
Keighley MP Kris Hopkins said: "This is yet another set of very pleasing figures, both locally and nationally, which come off the back of news that inflation also fell last month to 1.5 per cent.
“Every new job created in Keighley is excellent news for the individual affected and their family, and there is every indication that the trend in job creation in the constituency is set to continue.
“The fall in local youth unemployment is hugely welcome as we need our young people to be constructively engaged and contributing to the growth of our economy."
