A KEIGHLEY woman who was plucked from the Leeds and Liverpool Canal has died.

The 57-year-old woman was pulled out of the water in Saltaire last Sunday. She died in Bradford Royal Infirmary and has not yet been named.

Emergency personnel were alerted to the original incident near Salts Mill at about 8pm last Sunday.

Fire fighters, police and the ambulance service all responded to reports of a person in the water.

Fire crews from Shipley, Bingley and Idle stations helped get the woman out of the canal and she was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

The Coroner will be informed of the woman's death and an inquest will be held at a later date.
