I GO to Keighley many times.
I can understand Al Mirzaali’s complaints as many times when I try to park on the half-hour parking areas I cannot because of the taxis using them in turn (i.e. one goes out, one comes in) – Restaurant anger over taxi firms (Keighley News, October 16).
When I stopped a traffic warden she said they can use them for their business. But I am afraid Keighley is full of such problems, and the powers that be turn a blind eye to them.
Look at the takeaway at the traffic lights in North Street. Cars block traffic turning on the inside lane at various times, and this has a double yellow line!
It’s the same in East Parade. Cars use the pavement to park on. In these cases, I have never seen a ticket on any vehicle.
Yet go to Haworth and you will get a ticket. Wardens even tell the milk man to move when he’s delivering milk on a road more than 30ft wide causing no obstruction at all.
It appears they only tackle the easy options to the casual observer.
