THE ST John Ambulance is recruiting new adult and child members to its Keighley unit.

The first aid charity will hold an open evening on Monday (October 27) to showcase its activities.

Volunteers and cadets will be on hand to talk about their own experiences and to demonstrate their first aid skills.

The unit is looking for adult first aiders, cadets aged 10 to 17, and badgers aged five to 10.

The event will run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the unit’s base in the Waddington Street headquarters of Keighley Sea Cadets.

Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can find out about the charity’s Pathway training process from application to becoming a fully-fledged first aider in the local community.

Members provide first aid cover for events including Bradford City home matches and Bingley Music Live. Other members carry out fundraising, administration and youth activities.
