THERE’S murder afoot during the half-term holidays at East Riddlesden Hall.

A Cluedo trail is among highlights of the Halloween season at the 17th century manor house.

Families can follow stories of dark deeds by real-life characters from the hall’s past.

They can also explore the garden to find pumpkins painted in various colours, then collect collect leaves and seeds to decorate the pumpkins and upload their pictures to Twitter and Facebook.

The popular Halloween party, open to children and their parents, will be held in the haunted Airedale Barn tomorrow from 6pm to 10pm.

Shelley Hollingdrake, the hall’s learning officer, said: “There’s beer for grown-ups and soft drinks for children, and it’s lovely when everyone walks down to the hall in spooky costumes.”

Call 01535 607075 for further information about the events. Places must be booked in advance for the party, and the cost is £1 each.
