A RIDDLESDEN man who waved a knife at his ex-girlfriend in the street after sending her unwanted Facebook and phone messages was spared jail.
Angry Christopher Heywood shouted at Georgina Hart after following behind her car in King’s Road, Bradford, on August 4.
He had the knife after packing up following the couple’s split two days earlier, Bradford Crown Court heard. Heywood, 25, of Banks Lane, pleaded guilty to possession of a bladed article and affray.
Prosecutor Mehran Nassiri said he tried to speak to Miss Hart about financial matters as she sat in her car. He was aggressive and waving a large kitchen knife. In mitigation, the court heard he was a hard working man of previous good character. He was sentenced to 10 months jail, suspended for 12 months, with supervision and 120 hours unpaid work, costs and a £500 surcharge.
