Sunday: at Keighley New Church, Braithwaite, the Holy Supper service at 10.30am will be led by the Rev Christine Bank. Tea and coffee will be served afterwards in the church hall, with homemade produce for sale to boost church funds.

The Braithwaite Village Crafters meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month from10am to noon in Keighley New Church. There is a charge of £2.50, which covers the cost of refreshments and any tuition. Contact Yvonne on 01535 645410 for further information.

Wednesday: There is a coffee club at Laycock Village Hall with a book exchange, from10am to noon on the first Wednesday of each month. Everyone is welcome. Contact Jan on 01535 667508 for further information.

Our Police Community Support Officers are holding a contact point for residents of Braithwaite, Guard House and Laycock at the Keith Thompson Centre. This takes place on Saturdays from10am to 11am. All conversations are conducted in privacy on a one-to-one basis.

Singing for Pleasure, an informal community singing group, is held at Laycock Village Hall every Friday at 7.30pm. The cost is £1, including a drink and cake.

The next meeting of Laycock Women’s institute will be on November 20, when it will hold its Christmas party.

The next meeting of Brontë Blues Club will be on November 7, when the guest band will be Ian Siegal and Jimbo Mathus, celebrating the club’s 100th concert.

Keighley New Church will be holding its annual Christmas fair from 10am to 2pm on November 15. As usual, there will be many and varied stalls, with a chance to do a little Christmas shopping. Homemade lunches will be available alongside the more usual refreshments.
