KEIGHLEY’S new big band has announced details of its second concert.

The 17-strong Gerry And The Hatricks will perform at Haworth Parish Church on November 14.

Audience members can expect a selection of big band classics by famous composers like Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller.

The concert was organised following the runaway success of the band’s debut – after a year of rehearsals – at Oakworth Methodist Church earlier this month.

Michaela Smith will again be performing with the band, singing popular swing and jazz numbers.

Gerry And The Hatricks was established by bandleader John Large, of East Morton, who has spent his career playing in orchestras and military bands.

The Hatricks are comprised of many long-time professional musicians, along with several amateurs.

The November 14 concert will begin at 7.30pm and is being performed in aid of the Church Restoration Fund.

Tickets cost £6, including a glass of mulled wine and shortbread, from Firth’s Boutique on Main Street, Haworth, or by calling the concert organisers, Andrea and Jens Hislop on 01535 644444.
