THE NEWLY-formed Friends of Silsden Town Hall hope to make it easier for people to book the building for events.
The volunteer group plans to set up a website offering online booking and a link to Bradford Council’s official town hall page.
It could also publish a publicity leaflet, using £500 provided by district councillor Andrew Mallinson from his ward budget.
The Friends group, which is being spearheaded by Cllr Andrew Mallinson, attracted about 20 people to its first meeting last month.
Townspeople are welcome to join the group for its next meeting on Wednesday ( November 19) from 7pm in Silsden Town Hall.
Cllr Mallinson said: “The Friends want to focus the town hall as a central community hub for Silsden because they felt that was lacking in the town.
“Although the town hall is relatively busy it’s predominantly in the evening. They wanted to create a marketing strategy to get more groups in during the daytime, and for weddings and birthday parties.”
