THE BROWN Cow Inn in Keighley is holding a beer festival for the second year running.

The festival begins at noon today (November 13) and will continue until Sunday at the pub off West Lane.

Barry Smith, who runs the Brown Cow with Carol Taylor-Smith, said this year’s festival would focus on the beers of Derbyshire.

He said that last year’s festival was organised to mark 10 years of being in the pub.

He said: “It was so well attended and enjoyed that another yearly one was called for.

“This year has seen the Brown Cow Inn receive another award from Keighley and Craven for Pub of the Year for the district.”

The pub has become a runner-up for the regional Pub of the Year for Yorkshire, the prize will be presented at the pub on Saturday between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.

Mr Smith added: “We were delighted to learn that we have done so well regionally, which of course covers a huge area, it’s great to know that we are doing things effectively and pleasingly for customers.”
