There will be a service of Holy Communion at St Andrew’s Church on Sunday, at 8.15am and 10am. The St Andrew’s fair will take place in the church and parish rooms on November 29, from 10am to noon. A coffee morning at Farnhill Methodist Church last Saturday raised £200 for church funds and £30 for the Gambian Schools Trust. There will be a talk about the work of the schools trust at 7pm on December 4. It will be given by Linda and David Gunn, who regularly visit the Gambia to see the projects the church’s donations help to achieve. The talk will be followed by supper.
The Village Pump, the over-50s group, meets in the lower hall at Farnhill Methodist Church on Wednesday, from 2pm to 3.30pm.
Get ready for Christmas and learn party dances from a professional coach in the lower hall at Farnhill Methodist Church on Monday, from 1.30pm to 3pm. The cost is £2. Contact Joyce on 01535 635880 for further information.
A Christmas party evening is being held in Kildwick and Farnhill Institute on December 5, beginning with a pie and peas supper and sweet at 7pm. There will be music from Jim on the organ, a sing-along and party dances. Tickets are £7.50 from Joyce on 01535 635880 or Jill on 01535 633620.
The next meeting of Farnhill and Kildwick Local History Group is at the institute at 7pm on Monday, when the talk is about Kildwick’s listed buildings.
