MORE than 60 people attended a concert staged in Keighley by Haworth Band.
The event was held at the town's civic centre, where the popular brass outfit now rehearses.
Town mayor Councillor Graham Mitchell said last Friday's concert, in aid of his civic appeal, was a huge success.
It raised £724 to support the work of Keighley Salvation Army.
"The concert had two purposes – to welcome the band to the civic centre and to help raise money for my charity appeal," said Cllr Mitchell.
"Admission was free but we had an auction, raffles and collection buckets, and people gave generously.
"Food and drink was provided.
"It was a good evening and the band, which gave its services for free, was very well received."
