POLICE in an unmarked car followed a car from Bingley to the car park of a Keighley shopping centre, where they found a gathering of nuisance drivers.

And one of the car owners is being sent a warning after pulling a hand break turn in full view of the officers.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said officers from the district Off Road Bike Team were in Bingley last Sunday evening (Dec 7) when they saw a suspicious car that they followed to Keighley Retail Park, in Hard Ings Road.

He added: "Two police constables spoke to the driver in question and asked him to explain his driving.

"After checks were made they discovered he had already been given a section 59 warning over 12 months ago at that same location for pulling handbrake turns with no lights on.

"His vehicle was checked over to make sure it complied with the law. There were other drivers in the car park at the time who promptly left when they realised police were present.

"One vehicle tried to perform a handbrake turn in front of the officers before leaving the car park at speed. The officers wrote the registration down and the driver will be paid a visit and issued with a section 59 warning.

"The driver who was spoken to was advised that should he continue with his selfish and irresponsible driving then he faces losing his car and a court appearance."
