Oakworth Old People’s Welfare group meets at Holden Hall from 1.45pm to 3.30pm.There is now an art club at Christ Church at 7.30pm. The group welcomes anyone with an interest in art, whether experienced or just beginning.

Keighley Youth Theatre, KYDZ, meets at Oakworth Methodist Church. The group has up to 20 members aged ten to 18, and recruits new members through drama workshops.

Sunday: Christ Church Sunday Eucharist takes place at 8.30am followed by a family service at 9.30am, then refreshments in the church hall. A Christingle service is held at St John’s Church, Newsholme, at 3pm. Oakworth Methodist Church will host an all-age carol service, led by Janet Clark, at 10.30am, with refreshments afterwards in the church lounge. The service at Slack Lane Baptist Church is at 10.45am.

Monday: Oakworth Scouts meet in Holden Hall at 7pm.

Remember your mum or gran making rugs out of old clothes cut into strips and prodded through hessian to make cosy comfortable rugs? This craft is alive and well. Airedale Ruggers meet in Oakworth Methodist Church lounge on the third Monday of each month at 6.30pm.

Oakworth Village Society is staging the annual memorial service at Tewitt Lane at 2pm on January 4.

There will be Christmas crafts for all at Christ Church from 10am to noon on Saturday. The event features crafts for all ages, refreshments and a variety of stalls.

Songs For Christmas takes place in Holden Park at 6.30pm on Monday, with free mince pies and mulled wine provided by the Friends of Holden Park for adults and hot chocolate or squash for children. A band is booked. Organisers are looking forward to lots of people joining them for a sing-along – don’t forget your torch!
