Christmas church services include: Today – Lees Primary School carol service, St James’ Church, Cross Roads, 9.30am. Christmas Eve – Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church Midnight Mass preceded by carols, 11.30pm; St James’ Church Christingle service, 3pm, and Midnight Christmas Communion, 11.30pm.

Keighley & Worth Valley Railway (K&WVR) runs its Carol Train along the full line every year, complete with choir and band. Seats are booked up early, but the train stops at all stations and locals can join in the carols on each platform. The train will be stopping at Haworth Station on Saturday at 7.30pm. The Mince Pie Specials begin on Boxing Day and continue until January 4. This is a service where visitors can turn up on the day to see the stations transformed with amazing Christmas displays, real coal fires and gas lights, and visitors receive a complimentary mince pie during their journey.

The Nativity Walk – a special experience for everyone in Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury – takes place on Sunday. It will start at 1.45pm from the Christmas tree at the bottom of Main Street and will wind its way up the hill, telling the story through narrations and carols as it moves to the parish church. The event will be repeated at 12.45pm on Christmas Eve.

The next craft fair at the Old Brontë School Rooms is on Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 4pm. There will be a selection of handmade gifts and crafts. Admission is £1, including a hot drink. Visit haworthcraftfairs.co.uk for more details.

Haworth Baptist Church will be showing the classic film It’s A Wonderful Life, starring Jimmy Stewart, on Christmas Eve. This is suitable for all ages and carries a thoughtful, but uplifting, message.
