Christmas church activities include: St John’s, Cullingworth – Sunday, 10am service and carol service at 6.30pm; Monday, making Christingles in St John’s room at 10am, and carols at The George 8pm; Christmas Eve – Christingle Service 4pm, Communion Service 11.30pm; Christmas Day – Communion Service 10am. Cullingworth Methodist Church – Sunday, Carol Service 10.30am; Christmas Day – service at 10.15am. St Matthew’s Church, Wilsden – Sunday, Communion Service 9.30am and carol service 6.30pm; Christmas Eve – Christingle service at 4pm and joint Midnight Holy Communion service with St Saviour’s at Harden at 11.30pm; Christmas Day – Communion service at 10.30am at St Matthew’s.

The new library link at Cullingworth Methodist Church, in conjunction with Bradford Library Service, is open every Saturday from 10am to noon, with further opening hours to be announced in the New Year. There are about 1,000 to 2,000 books, and the stock consists of both adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction.

Bingley Food Bank welcomes volunteers and donations of food on Tuesdays and Fridays, 10.30am to noon, at Bingley Arts Centre. Gifts of tinned goods, including potatoes, fruit and custard, are particularly welcome, together with dried pasta, tea, coffee and sugar.

A tutored art group meets in the St John’s Room at St John the Evangelist Church, Cullingworth, Thursdays, 7pm to 9pm. Contact tutor Simon on 07899 698965 or Jean on 01535 272341.

Bingley Rural Children’s Centre has organised activities for young children at Cullingworth Methodist Church on Thursdays, from 1.30pm to 2.15pm. Go along and join the Boogie Tots, a lively music session designed to give little ones the chance to build confidence, balance, co-ordination and communication skills, while making new friends and having fun. Cullingworth Rainbows meet in the village hall on Wednesday, from 5.15pm to 6.15pm. The 1st Cullingworth Brownies also meet in the village hall on Wednesday, from 6.15pm to 7.30pm. Contact Michele Wilson on 01274 569998 or district commissioner Claire Mooney on 07900 112530.

The 11th Keighley Scout group has three sections for boys and girls aged six to 14 years. They meet in the Scout hut, Cullingworth. Contact group scout leader Teresa Davy on 01535 272766. The Beaver Scouts meet on Tuesday, from 6pm to 7.30pm, the Cubs on Monday, 6.30pm to 8pm, and the Scouts on Tuesday from 7.45pm to 9.15pm. There is also an Explorer Scout group (14-18 years) that meets on alternate Thursdays, from 7.30pm to 9pm.

The Wilsden Gardening Association hut, at the side of St Matthew’s Church, is open on Sunday from 10am to noon. Contact Catherine Bartle on 01535 273102. If you applied for an allotment after March 2012, are still interested in having one and are a resident of Wilsden, contact John Bartle as the waiting list is now more reasonable.

Cullingworth Methodist Church holds a coffee and chat morning on Saturdays from10am to noon, and the first Saturday of each month is a charity morning, when all proceeds are given to an appointed cause. There is a coffee and cake morning every Wednesday, from 10am to 11.30am.

Children’s clubs at Harden Congregational Church on Sunday include: junior church for children of all ages, 10.30am to 11.30am (children attend the church service for the first 15 minutes, then go into the church lounge for Bible-based activities, games and songs); Pilots, 6.30pm to 7.30pm during term-time, in the church lounge, for children aged six to 12 (activities include games, crafts, drama and projects); the Ark is a discussion-based group for teenagers, 13-18, to talk about issues that interest and affect them, and explore what the Bible has to say, 7.30pm to 9pm during term-time in the church lounge. Zumba classes take place at Parkside School on Monday at 6.15pm, followed by Bokwa from 7pm to 8pm. Please wear comfortable clothes and trainers and take lots of water. The cost is £5 per session. Just turn up. Contact Mags De’ath on 07966 939064.

The 2012 Drama Academy meets at St Matthew’s Church, Wilsden, on Monday, from 5pm to 6pm, for ages five to 11, and from 6pm to 7pm for 12s and over. Contact Olivia on 07581 404078.

A youth group meets for fun and friendship at either St Saviour’s, Harden, or St Matthew’s, Wilsden, on Sunday evenings. The programme includes arranged outings, like bowling, visiting the Lazerzone or climbing walls. Contact parish priest the Rev Suzy McCarter on 01535 270687.

Junior Christian Club, run by St John’s Church, Cullingworth, now meets in the primary school as an after-school club on Mondays at 3pm in term time. Contact the Rev McCarter.
