CAMPAIGNERS last night (Dec 17) staged a second demonstration to try and save Haworth's retained fire station.
The facility is due to close on December 31 as part of major cost-cutting measures by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
The first protest march held last Saturday by Haworth resident Steve Thorpe attracted about 60 placard-carrying demonstrators. Last night's rally was held outside the fire station itself.
A third protest will take place in the village this coming Saturday at 1pm, with marchers again due to set off from outside the fire station.
