THREE women aim to conquer Africa's highest peak to raise money for charity.
Rebecca Templeman, her cousin Ali Smith and friend Tracy Gould will begin their ascent of Kilimanjaro – in Tanzania – on Sunday (Feb 1).
They hope to complete the trek in eight days.
Miss Templeman, 39, a nurse at Steeton Court, and her cousin – who lives in Yarm, Cleveland – are raising cash for Cancer Research UK.
And dog walker Tracy, from Haworth, is supporting Alopecia UK.
"Both my dad and Ali's mum died from cancer so it's a cause that is very close to our hearts," said Miss Templeman, from Keighley.
"Together we set ourselves a target of raising £1,000 but we've already reached that so anything else now is a bonus.
"Tracy chose Alopecia UK because a friend's daughter has the condition, and so far she has raised about £500."
She added: "I'm looking forward to the challenge, but am a bit nervous!
"We've been doing plenty of training.
"I would like to thank Steeton Court and Workouts Gym for their support."
