PROCEEDS from a Christmas Bronte Tractor Run have been handed over to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Ten members of the fundraising group visited the helicopter service's Nostell Priory base at the weekend to present a £1,598 cheque.

More than £21,000 has now been raised for the air ambulance through the tractor runs, which started over 14 years ago.

"The latest Christmas run went very well – we had over 40 vehicles take part and we were delighted with the amount raised," said Stanley Turner, for the group.

The vehicles set off from Colin Appleyard Cars in South Street, Keighley, and covered a route of about 24 miles, finishing at the Bronte Hotel in Haworth for a stew lunch, raffle and tombola.

Members also raise money for other charitable causes, including Manorlands.
