A KEIGHLEY hotel has announced that it will receive a £235,000 make-over this year, as part of a nationwide brand modernisation programme.

The planned revamp of the local branch of the Travelodge, in Bradford Road, is designed to give the 43-room hotel a contemporary, fresh look and feel. Work is expected to take three weeks and will be completed this autumn.

Keighley Travelodge first opened in 2010 and is managed by Phillip Dorritt. The hotel employs 10 people.

Mr Dorritt said: "We’re investing more than £100 million nationwide on modernising our hotels for our customers, and it is great news that Keighley Travelodge is to benefit.

“In 2014, at Keighley Travelodge we enjoyed double digit growth due to the rise in business and leisure customers switching to us. Our new modernised hotel will ensure that we continue to grow sales and become the favourite hotel for value in the area.”

This year's refurbishment will include updating the hotel's reception area and installing truckle beds for children in family rooms.
