MEMBERS of Keighley's All Saints Church are encouraging people to write to their parliamentary candidates to urge them to keep climate change high on the political agenda.
The church stresses it is vital to ensure this subject gets the attention it deserves.
All Saints church member Rod Tickner said: “There are many important issues competing for attention at a general election and climate change can seem too big and abstract for us to get our head around. However, its unintended consequences will be devastating."
Climate change will be the theme of the church's service at 10.30am on Sunday March 1.
Priest in charge Reverend Dr Jonathan Pritchard said: “The church is now keeping the season of Lent when we take time to reassess what is important in life, so it's an important time to think about how we prioritise the well-being of creation.”
Immediately after the service there will be a letter-writing session, where individuals can write to prospective parliamentary candidates. Pens, paper and envelopes will be provided, along with refreshments.
