KEIGHLEY shoppers have been urged to take advantage of an opportunity to donate Easter Eggs to youngsters from needy families.

From Tuesday of last week (March 17) the town's Asda Supermarket has made a trolley available at the front of the store where customers can donate Easter Eggs to the local charity Living Lights.

This is part of a national initiative which allows each branch of the supermarket to choose a good cause to promote.

Living Lights, which is run from the Church of the Nazarene, in Oakworth Road, runs a food bank, a drop-in centre and an outreach service.

Charity director, Patrick McDonnell said: "Asda Keighley support us all year round by providing a permanent collections trolley where customers can donate non-perishable food for our food bank.

"We're delighted that Asda has chosen us for the Easter Egg collection, and we want to thank the store's customers for their ongoing generous support."

The Easter Eggs collection trolley will be in place until Easter Monday. (April 6)
