TODDLERS in Silsden received a visit from staff from a newly-opened supermarket.

The Aldi staff visited Daisy Chain Children's Centre, in Elliott Street, to donate a range of products for small children including healthy snacks.

A spokesman for the store said: "The donation was arranged to support the centre’s class, which runs every Tuesday morning for up to 25 children and their parents.

"We are proud to support the community around our stores. We have also sponsored the Silsden AFC Juniors’ six-a-side competition, which will take place in June this year."

The new Silsden supermarket opened on March 5 and has created over 25 new jobs for the local area.

Johnathan Kulik, Aldi area manager, said: “It’s been fantastic meeting with the Daisy Chain Children’s Centre, and we are pleased that our donation will be able to support the great work they do for the local community.

“We’ve had a great response since opening the new store, and the team is looking forward to meeting more customers in the future, as well as working with Silsden AFC Juniors this summer.”
