EASTER fun is in store across the district.

St Peter's Methodist Church at Cross Hills and traders in the village's main street will be staging numerous activities and competitions from 10am to 1pm on April 4.

"It will be a fun-packed, entertainment-filled day for all the family to enjoy," said a spokesman.

In the church hall there will be stalls selling plants, flowers, cakes and other baked goods, and an arts and crafts fair.

Shopkeepers will be providing refreshments, music, face painting and a bouncy castle.

Competitions will include an Easter egg treasure hunt and name-the-duck.

And there will be a tombola and raffle, with prizes including Easter eggs, car valeting and chocolates from Thornton's.

At Haworth, Charlotte Bronte's friend Ellen Nussey will meet visitors to the parsonage museum during the holidays.

Ellen decided to visit the parsonage because she was dismayed to hear Charlotte was about to get married.

The Brontes' much-loved servant Tabby Ackroyd will also be at the museum to reminiscence about the famous siblings' childhood days.

Ellen will be at the museum on Monday (March 30), April 7 and April 10 from 1pm to 3pm, while Tabby will be in residence on Good Friday, April 3 and Easter Monday.

Visitors can join a guided walk around Haworth on Tuesday and hear a talk about the Brontes' famous 'little books' on Wednesday, both from 2pm.

Visitors can make a miniature garden with local artist Rachel Lee next Thursday, and handle items from the museum’s collection of domestic artefacts on April 8 and 9, from 1pm to 3pm.

All events are free with admission to the museum. Visit bronte.org.uk for further information.
