FUNDRAISING at Parkwood Primary School in Keighley has blossomed.

Pupils grew daffodils as part of Marie Curie's Mini Pots of Care initiative.

And their efforts raised £944 for the cancer charity.

Leah Mitchell, a community fundraiser for Marie Curie, has visited the school to collect the cheque.

"I would like to thank the school for raising such an incredible amount of money," she said.

"The funds will help us to continue providing care for people living with a terminal illness and support for their families."

All the school's 220-plus pupils planted the bulbs in November and nurtured them through the winter.

The youngsters decorated wrappers to go around the pots, which they then took home.

There was a competition for the best wrapper.
