THE NORTH of England’s first Jumbles and Pearls retro fair will be held in Haworth next month.

Haworth woman Rosalia Ferrara will host the “pop-up family fair” on May 2 with a clutch of stalls.

Traders from as far afield as Middlesbrough have snapped up stalls featuring beauty services, body adornment, printed items, shabby chic, vintage fashion, recycled art and card reading.

Keighley-born Rosalia has been working on the project since she last year returned from several years living in London.

She ran many Jumbles and Pearls events in the capital, first with friends then on her own, attracting thousands of people on the hunt for unusual gifts, art and fashion.

She hopes to establish a similar network of regular fares in the Haworth, Keighley and Hebden Bridge areas.

She said: “We have sold out of stall space and it's looking very positive for May 2.”

One of the stalls will be Sugar Hen, run by former Haworth woman Kelly Marie Waddington and selling hand-printed items for the home, nursery and pet.

Kelly recently took a college fine art course after being made redundant, and now creates a wide range of items inspired by animals and the countryside.

These include pure linen cushions, quirky t-shirts, baby snugs, cot bumpers, bags, tea towels and lamps.

Hetty’s Pamper Hampers will sell hand-crafted scented candles, wax melts and pamper gift baskets.

Bobzilla, from Middlesbrough, creates artworks and other items from recycled vinyl, such as tea towels, cushions, portraits, maps and children’s chairs.

Glam Up And Rock On is a collective of experienced “artists and beauty folk” who offer a fabulous experience through all types of body adornment and beauty services.

Jumbles and Pearls will be at the West Lane Baptist Church, Haworth, on May 2 from 1pm to 6pm.
