A WOMAN who was found dead behind flats in Keighley yesterday afternoon was a local woman aged around 60, according to police.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are continuing to investigate the incident. The body of the woman was found in Vernon Court, near Devonshire Park, on Sunday at around 3.55pm.
She was discovered in bushes at the rear of the property by a resident who contacted emergency services.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve Snow of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: "We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this lady's death today, and a post mortem will be conducted.
"Forensic officers have been conducting enquiries at the scene, and we are speaking with residents and neighbours in the area as we seek to build up a picture of what took place.
"The death is currently been treated as unexplained pending further enquires to determine if there are any suspicious circumstances or not.”
