HAWORTH & Worth Valley Rotarians are staging an auction to raise money for a special swing.

Club members say the swing, which could cost over £600, would be suitable for use by children with disabilities.

It would be installed in the village park.

The club is appealing for donated items – including pottery, collectables, antiques, jewellery, books and small pieces of furniture – to sell at the auction, which takes place at the Methodist Church hall, West Lane, Haworth, on June 27.

"Having a grandchild with cerebral palsy I know from personal experience how hard it is when you go to a play park with her and her sibling – as she can't take part in all the fun!" said Chris Bown, for the club.

"We do have quite a collection of items for the auction now, but not enough to raise lots of money!

"If anyone has any goods they are able to donate to this fantastic cause, please get in touch."
