HAWORTH Festival has unveiled a packed roster of entertainment spanning 13 days this month.

The festivities begin on Thursday next week (June 18) and run at several venues until June 29.

Attractions range from nationally-renowned comedian Patrick Monahan to arts and crafts, concerts, storytelling events and an exhibition.

Music ranges from folk, rock, blues and roots to a children’s choir, a ukelele extravaganza and Gilbert and Sullivan operettas.

Local residents and visitors to the Brontë village can get involved in some of the events, rather than simply watching.

Stand-up comedian Patrick Monahan returns to Haworth’s Old School Room on June 24, following his well-received debut at the festival last year.

Patrick, a regular on TV, will perform his new show The Disco Years in advance of presenting it at the Edinburgh Festival, promising “more dancing, hugging and disco shapes”.

Ikkle Dragon Crafts will be at the Cobbles and Clay cafe, Main Street, on June 20 from 10am to noon to run a fabric mosaic-making workshop.

People of all ages can make fun, fluffy and eye-catching mosaics using sticky tiny fleece pieces.

Young Haworth singer Emily Sargant and her storyteller father Adam promise an evening of enchantment on June 22 with traditional tales of transformation and ballads of bewitchment, at the Old Hall Inn from 7.30pm.

The Heart Trail Run will return to Haworth on June 23, following the success of the first event last year.

The five-mile ’social run’ will follow a circular, hilly, off-road route, with participants looking for tiny ceramic hearts placed along the way.

Bradford-based South Asian arts organisation KalaSangam will be at the Cobbles and Clay on June 28 for storytelling sessions at 11.30am and 2.30pm.

The organisation promises performances passionately and ardently woven together, with eloquent hand gestures, witty spoken words and melodious flute music.

Local artists will display their work in the Old School Room, next to Haworth Parish Church, on June 20 and 21.
