POLICE are appealing for the driver of a blue 'box van' to come forward after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in an incident at Keighley.

The 52-year-old motorcyclist came off his yellow Triumph on the A650 Aire Valley trunk road, near Marley roundabout.

He suffered a broken wrist and broken ribs in the incident – which happened at about 8.48am yesterday – and was taken to hospital, where his condition is described as stable.

PC Paul Feather, of the Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support team, said: "We believe there was a blue 'box van' with a roller shutter door travelling in close proximity to the motorcycle, as both headed towards Bingley.

"It is possible that the van driver did not see what happened, but we are keen for that person to come forward as they may have vital information."

The driver or anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact PC 2771 Feather on 101.
