DELAYS are expected on an access road to Ponden reservoir as contractors carry out essential improvement work.
Yorkshire Water began carrying out maintenance and inspection work on the reservoir spillway on Monday.
The work, which will help protect the reservoir sides from flood erosion, is expected to take a fortnight and is being carried out on weekdays from 7.30am to 5pm.
During the work, construction traffic is using the road that runs along the reservoir embankment between Scar Top Road and Ponden Lane.
A spokesman said: “This road may be temporarily blocked at times throughout the project when deliveries are being made.
“Traffic can use the alternative access via Ponden Lane, where Scar Top Road becomes Hob Lane.
“Whilst we do all we can to minimise disruption, visitors and residents may notice additional noise, traffic and personnel in the area.”
Yorkshire Water said it would not need access to nearby properties during the work.
