KEIGHLEY people are welcome to come and watch the latest instalment of an annual volleyball tournament, which will be staged in the town next month.

The event is at Marley Sports Centre on Sunday August 9, and runs from 11am to 10pm.

There will be 12 teams taking part from across England, including visiting squads from London, Leicester, Manchester, Blackburn and Birmingham. Proceeds raised from the event will go towards needy people in Pakistan, and prizes will be on offer to the tournament winners.

Abdul Ghaffar Gorsi, a Keighley resident who is one of the organisers, said Keighley Central councillors Abid Hussain and Khadim Hussain would be attending the contest as guests.

"This is the fourth year we've held the tournament, and last year we had hundreds of spectators," he added. "We could get more than 500 people this time.

"Admission is free and there will be food available."
