AN AUTHENTIC taste of Sicily has come to Keighley following the arrival of Italian cafe owner Giuliano Nocera.

Giuliano, who moved to Silsden to be with his girlfriend Jacqueline McGarry, has opened Giuliano’s of Sicily on the High Street roundabout.

The deli serving freshly-made Italian sandwiches, bruschetta, salads and real Italian coffee, and has outside tables where customers can eat.

Giuliano said: “I am sourcing delicious produce directly from Sicily including olives, almond and pistachio biscuits.

“The croissants with pistachio cream or Nutella are an additional favourite of our already regular customers.

Giuliano previously worked in a family-run business Bar Milano in Sicily which specialises in Italian pastries, salads and sandwiches.

This was the inspiration for his homemade tiramisu which he said had been described as “addictive” by local people.

Giuliano added: “Our delicatessen differs from other high streeet branded coffee shops. We want to give something new to customers who want an authentic experience.”

Keighley is such a vibrant place with a wonderful community. I’m hopeful the local people will welcome Giuliano’s of Sicily as much as the people of Yorkshire have welcomed me.

Giuliano’s of Sicily is open from Mondays to Saturdays from 8.30am to 4pm, with late-night opening on Fridays until 8pm , with specialist wines.
