A KEIGHLEY restaurateur has spoken of his pride at representing the district for a fifth consecutive year in a top national contest.

Shimla Spice is one of four eateries chosen to battle on Bradford's behalf to retain the UK Curry Capital crown.

The city is bidding to win the coveted title for a record fifth year running.

"We are the only restaurant that has been involved every time and we are delighted to be selected again," said Faisal Hussain, manager of the South Street premises.

"It's a great honour to represent Keighley and help put the town on the map nationally.

"We have a very loyal and supportive customer base and we are grateful to everyone for their backing."

Shimla Spice is being joined in this year's Bradford team by Akbar’s in Thornbury, Aakash of Cleckheaton and Kipling’s, Greengates.
