A CONVOY of vehicles took to the roads for the latest Bronte Tractor Run in aid of Manorlands.

Nearly 30 tractors, Land Rovers and classic cars were involved in yesterday's event.

Participants set off from outside Cross Roads Fisheries and covered a route of about 20 miles, taking in the Worth Valley and Ovenden area.

They then made their way down Haworth Main Street to finish at the Bronte Hotel, where pie and peas were served and there was a raffle and tombola.

The event raised about £370 for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

Stanley Turner, for the organising team, said: "The number of vehicles was a little down on normal but it was still a good day and we had people from as far afield as Wakefield and Lancashire.

"Everybody enjoyed themselves and the weather was fine, which always helps.

"I would like to thank Chris Herd, who supplied the pies, and everyone who gave their support."

The next tractor run is on December 27 and will be in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
