A PATH between Braithwaite and Fell Lane will be officially ‘opened’ on Saturday following improvements.
Several community groups and residents have carried out long-needed repairs to the cat steps as part of the Taking A Step With The Armed Forces campaign.
Keighley West Environmental Partnership will host the event from noon to 2pm, with speeches, local history and art displays, face painting, a free buffet and children’s activities.
Community development worker, Pip Gibson, said: “This celebratory event goes out as a huge thank you to all those who have been involved in the making of this project.”
Pip added volunteers had created an easier access on the old mill footpath, replacing steps, fitting handrails, planting bushes and roses and installing a new drainage system.
She said: “The overgrown foliage and vegetation has been cut back to restore a beautiful vista.”
Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, the Bradford Armed Forces Champion, will cut the ribbon. The event is open to the public.
