A mum who lost her seven-month-old baby to gastro-enteritis has set up an Internet forum to help other grieving parents.

Anne-marie Bartlett, of Stockbridge, has started the website forum, called Little Angels, as a way of reaching out to other mums following the tragic death of her daughter Grace Mzozoyana.

The sudden death of her daughter, on February 22, shocked the whole family and the forum has given Anne-marie a space to talk to others about her own loss.

She said she was lucky to have her three-year-old son, Morgan Bartlett, who had kept her going.

Anne-marie, 21, said: "When we lost Grace I looked on the Internet for help and I couldn't find anything so I thought I would set up something for other "It's a place where people can talk to someone who has been through a similar situation. When I feel down I go on the forum and write something and it makes me feel better."

Baby Grace started with a fever on the Friday before she died. This then developed into sickness and diarrhoea by the following day. On the Tuesday Anne-marie contacted her doctor who she said visited the house, checked Grace over and said she had a cold that would go in a few days.

In the early hours of Thursday morning baby Grace died in her sleep.

Anne-marie said: "My partner found her and he woke me up straight away. I called an ambulance and I tried to resuscitate her, but she had been gone quite a while.

"The doctor said she wouldn't have been in a lot of pain, she would have just gone to sleep. We haven't come to terms with it yet. We just feel lost without her."

Grace was taken to Airedale Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. A post mortem examination revealed that she had died of dehydration due to gastro-enteritis.

Anne-marie added: "She was just so cheeky and she had one of those smiles that meant she could get away with anything. Everybody loved her and she just loved everybody."

The forum was set up three weeks after baby Grace died and Anne-marie said she hoped people would want to share their stories or find refuge through reading other people's stories.

In the future Anne-marie hopes to start a support group for grieving mums and along with her friend Judy Wilson, who helped to set up the forum, she is keen to start a charity.

The funeral for baby Grace was held at Skipton Crematorium where donations were made to the children's unit at Airedale Hospital, a place Anne-marie hopes to raise more funds for.
