BOLTON Woods Sabres under-14s showed they can cope with life in the top flight by defeating hosts BD5 Real 5-1 in a Craven, Aire & Wharfe Junior League game which was notable for the number of goal-line clearances.

Mckenzie Lister and Thomas and Theo Cokewright gave Sabres a 3-0 half-time lead – and they even missed a penalty.

BD5 pulled a goal back in the second half but Sabres were not too rattled by this spell of pressure and Kaylum Johnson made it 4-1, the scorer then turning creator for Lister to get the fifth.
