A MORTGAGE advisor stopped for speeding in Bradley was over the drugs-drive limit, heard Skipton magistrates.

Pietro Earwaker, 26, was on his way home from work in Skipton on August 5 when he was stopped for doing 49mph on 30mph Ings Lane, the court heard on Friday.

A road side drugs test proved positive and he was taken to the police station where a blood test showed he had 2.4 microgrammes of the active ingredient of cannabis per litre of blood, just more than the limit of two.

Earwaker, of Harewood Road, Keighley, was a man of previous good character who worked for Skipton Building Society advising on mortgages, the court heard.

He had been smoking cannabis for 13 years since his mother had died, suffered from sciatica and had smoked a joint the night before.

He pleaded guilty and was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £250, with criminal courts cost of £150, prosecution costs of £85 and surcharge of £25.
