KEIGHLEY'S poppy appeal organiser has issued a renewed plea for volunteer drivers to help with this year's effort.
Tommy Thompson, who is currently unable to drive himself after slipping and breaking his left arm, said there was a desperate need for helpers.
"We have about 300 poppy collection boxes to deliver to shops, businesses and schools across the Keighley area," said the ex-soldier.
"We're looking for anybody with their own vehicle who can spare a little time to assist with distributing the boxes and collecting them later."
The role is voluntary, but petrol expenses will be paid.
He said the Keighley Royal British Legion poppy appeal had continued to grow in recent years.
Last year, a record £40,000-plus was raised.
Mr Thompson would also like to hear from people interested in helping the appeal in any other way.
He can be contacted on 07882 458849.
