FASTBATS A have made an impressive start to the season in Bradford League Division Two.
Among the favourites in their section, they have reeled off four straight victories, dropping only four sets in the process.
Their latest victims were Embassy Police C, who gave a good account of themselves.
Martin Connolly won his opening two singles for Embassy, and spoilt Tony McGowan's unbeaten record, but Fastbats proved too strong.
Craig Knowles dropped only one game in winning his three singles while McGowan and Helen Shields took two each as Fastbats ran out 8-2 winners.
There was yet another tight derby as Hermits I and H shared the spoils.
The H team looked in control as Martin Jackson was untroubled in winning his three sets, and Terry Halliday beat Stewart Varley and Geoff Parkes as they led 5-2.
But the I team rallied as Parkes came from 2-1 down to beat Stephen Morris, and Roger Swithenbank stopped Halliday and then joined Varley to take the doubles to level the match.
