STUDENTS have been leading assemblies over the past fortnight at Parkside School in Cullingworth.
The Student Leadership Team led the assemblies for Switch Off Fortnight which has been running from November 16-29.
They encouraged fellow students to switch off various items in order to save both money and energy.
Team members gave out the top three tips for saving energy, and spoke about what life would be like if people could not turn the lights back on.
Assemblies were also held by Parkside’s Anti-Bullying Champions as part of Anti-Bullying Week and to continue the school’s work raising awareness of bullying.
The Champions highlighted the need to speak out whether someone is a victim or a bystander.
Parkside School students and staff organised several events For Children in Need earlier this month, including a bake sale, games, tin can alley and popcorn sale.
The final total raised by the school for the BBC appeal, announced this week, was £1,197.
