DEWSBURY SEDBERGH lost their 100 per-cent record in Division One of the Bradford Table Tennis League when they came up against a Peter Morgan-inspired Highdale A.

Morgan has only lost two sets out of 24 and sits on top of the average. Highdale have struggled in the first half to field their strongest line-up and have dropped points as a result, but against Sedbergh they were firing on all cylinders, with Morgan in sensational form.

He dropped only two games in beating Jonni Caspi, Mark Land and Ivan Lewis, with Stephen Arliss taking two and Richard Whiteley one as Highdale triumphed 7-3 to stop Sedbergh in their tracks.

In Division Two there are three Hermits teams in contention for one top-seven place. Hermits E were looking to leapfrog their F and G teams when they came up against Embassy-Police C, who arrived with only two players.

Armed with a three-set lead, Hermits quickly won the first two sets as Malcolm Fowler and Peter Eccles overcame Neil Foley and Palminder Sandhu respectively. That was as good as it got though for Hermits, as Foley and Eccles dug deep to win two each and the doubles to salvage a draw, which left Hermits E just behind their club rivals.
