KEIGHLEY-district groups could receive cash aid from a community interest company.

Locala, which provides NHS community healthcare across the region, is giving away £5,000.

And groups are invited to apply for grants of between £100 and £1,000.

Since the fund was set-up four years ago, more than £35,000 has been distributed for projects ranging from food banks to allotment schemes.

"Over the years we have supported some inspiring projects and we're looking forward to receiving the next round of applications," said Locala chairman Mark Sanders.

"Small groups make a fantastic contribution to community life. Sometimes they just need a little financial support to keep going or to make the most of their existing facilities."
