A BLAZE which severely damaged a car at Stockbridge last night is being treated as arson.
The fire was started in the engine of the Peugeot 307 and spread inside to the driver's area.
Firefighters – including one wearing breathing apparatus – used a hose reel to bring the inferno under control.
One crew from Keighley Fire Station was called out to the incident, off Bradford Road, at 11.30pm.
Crew commander Shane Byrne said: "The cause of the fire is not certain, but the car had been stood unused for several hours so we are treating it as deliberate rather than any fault in the vehicle."
