A Keighley-based sculptor has displayed a range of his works in a giant aircraft hanger at Leeds-Bradford Airport.

Simon Moller, of East Morton, who specialises in creating unique and functional artwork, was asked to exhibit at an event in aviation company Multiflight's facility at the airport.

The event, hosted by Multiflight in conjunction with JCT 600 Bentley and Bombardier Skyjet International, saw a number of "high profile" individuals invited.

His work was displayed among a collection of cars from the JCT 600 Bentley range, Multiflight's fleet of charter helicopters and Bombardier private jets.

Simon, 54, a former Royal College of Art student, said: "I describe my work as a combination of art and furniture and I create highly bespoke pieces that are commissioned to fit the needs and space of the client.

"It is art that is designed to be used and abused, but will always be the centre of attention within any space it occupies."

The internationally renowned artist has exhibited all over the world and just recently finished displaying his works at Blackheath Gallery, in London. Awarded the Henry Moore Fellowship in 1987, Simon has a studio in Keighley Business Centre.

Managing director of Multiflight Steve Borrowdale said: "Simon's work is very interesting and innovative and it provided a very eye catching addition to the successful two-day event."
