THE best finish in the Bradford & District Evening League came in Division One at Great Horton Park Chapel.

The hosts needed six off the final ball to beat Thornton but Matthew Jordan (36) was caught on the boundary by Chris Ramsden, leaving Park Chapel on 108-5 (Baber Yaqoob 30, Mark Clayton 3-30).

Thornton had posted 113-7 (Nikki Hutchinson 31, Blake Glen 3-16).

Shelf scored 123-4 at Stonewhite (Bilal Abbas 55no).

However, the home side passed that with eight wickets and 1.4 overs to spare (Gulsheraz Ahmed 50no).

Omars took on Denholme, with the visitors only making 115-3 from 16 overs (Jack Holland 43, Charlie Davy 30no) but the big Park Avenue ground proved Omars' undoing as players were caught on the boundary and ended on 93-6 (Bilal Ahmed 38).

New boys Bradshaw continued their impressive start to the season in Division Two, scoring 124-2 at Daisy Hill (Steve Beck 54no) before restricting the hosts to 78-7.

In a low-scoring affair at Hepworth & Idle, Jonny Thompson’s 4-8 helped the home side restrict fellow new boys Yorkshire LPS to 86-8, Hepworth & Idle scraping home by four wickets.
