NINETIES band Kool Jerx are playing a second gig following the success of their recent reformation in Keighley.
The local soul legends returned triumphantly to the stage in February for a Victoria Hall gig that raised £2,900 for Manorlands.
The front man was Thomas J, who performed extensively in the 1980s with the Kool Jerx’s hugely popular forerunner Thomas J And The Gangsters OfSoul.
The Kool Jerx now plan a set of gigs over the next few months, the first one at the New Variety Club, Russell Street, on June 10. Thomas J will again be the singer.
Tickets cost £10, and are available from the Bilaluci cafe bar in Kirkgate, Silsden, or by phoning 01535 658273 or 07813 252738.
The Victoria Hall gig was organised by long-time local music promoter Martin Corby, who described the Kool Jerx as “awesome”, even though they had only managed a couple of rehearsals before the performance.
